Can an AI receptionist book into Calendly?

It depends on your Calendly plan. Calendly's Scheduling API can now create a booking for a caller directly, but only if your account is on a paid plan. On the free plan, a texted link is the only path.

What the vendor's API allowsOpen write API

Calendly's Scheduling API creates event invitees on your event types without the caller touching Calendly's UI. Calendly restricts it to customers on paid plans. Read access to event types and scheduled events is broadly available.

What BookLine does on a call todayIn development

Today the AI answers, quotes from your onboarding, texts the caller your Calendly link during the call, and sends your team anything that needs a person. Direct booking for paid accounts is in development.

What that means for youLink texted today

If you are on a paid Calendly plan, the AI will book directly once our connection ships. On the free plan, the texted link is what every vendor can offer.

How a call goes

Today: answered, quoted, and the booking link in their hand.

Until the integration ships, the AI answers every call, answers questions from your onboarding, texts the caller your booking link while they are on the phone, and sends your team anything that needs a person.

Every assistant opens with your business name, the recording notice, and an introduction as an AI assistant. Anyone who asks for a person gets one.

Happy to help. I can text you our booking link right now, or take your details and have Jordan confirm a time. Which do you prefer?
Text me the link, please.
Sent. You'll see it in a second, and if anything gives you trouble just call back and I'll take it from here.

What you need on your side

Before we connect Calendly.

The vendor sets most of these conditions, not us. Knowing them up front is the difference between a two-day setup and a surprise.

  • A paid Calendly plan if you want direct booking; free plans are link-only by Calendly's rules
  • Event types with durations, one per person if callers ask by name
  • Your public Calendly link, so the AI can text it today
Where this sits

Where the AI books for real, and where it can't yet.

Some booking systems let outside software write appointments. Some do not, and no vendor can change that. We keep the vendor's side and our side separate, and we update the list as we prove each system.

Questions owners ask

Questions owners ask about Calendly.

Can the AI book into Calendly today?

Not yet as a direct write. Calendly opened direct booking to paid accounts only, and we build the connection against the first paid-plan customer who needs it. Today the AI answers, quotes from your onboarding, texts the caller your Calendly booking link during the call, and sends your team anything that needs a person.

What will change when the integration ships?

The AI will read live availability from Calendly, offer real times, and create the appointment on the call. Nothing changes on your phones or your number; we switch the tool on for your account.

What do I need to have ready?

A paid Calendly plan and an admin who can approve the connection. Free accounts stay link-only, which is Calendly's rule, not ours.

Does the AI tell callers it's an AI?

Yes. Right after your business name it says the call may be recorded for quality assurance, then introduces itself as an AI assistant. Callers can ask for a person at any time.

Do I need to change my phone number?

No. We forward your existing number, or port it onto our phone system if you want us to run the whole thing. Your customers never notice.

Not sure what you are running?

Tell us what you book on and we will tell you plainly what we can and cannot do with it, before you pay for anything.
